The Metro 2039 Deluxe Edition on PS5 has different contents in digital and physical form. The digital Deluxe Edition includes the full game, the future Story Expansion DLC, a Digital Art Book, and a Digital Soundtrack. The physical Deluxe Edition includes those same game and digital extras, then adds a game disc in an exclusive SteelBook and a hardback Art Book.
The Specialist Pack is separate: it is a preorder bonus offered with every preordered edition, not a Deluxe-only item. The wearable replica Spartan Helmet belongs to the Collector's Edition and is not included with either PS5 Deluxe package.
Metro 2039 is still in its prerelease period. The US PlayStation Store lists the digital Deluxe Edition for $99.99 and gives a February 4, 2027 release date. Prices, stock, and retailer offers can change before launch.
What Each PS5 Deluxe Edition Includes
| Item | Digital Deluxe on PS5 | Physical Deluxe on PS5 |
|---|---|---|
| Metro 2039 full game | Yes, as the digital game | Yes, on a game disc |
| Story Expansion DLC | Yes | Yes |
| Digital Art Book | Yes | Yes |
| Digital Soundtrack | Yes | Yes |
| Exclusive SteelBook | No | Yes |
| Hardback Art Book | No | Yes |
The key buying difference is therefore the physical packaging. Both versions provide the announced expansion and digital bonus content, but only the physical Deluxe Edition supplies the SteelBook, hardback book, and disc. The official announcement describes the Story Expansion DLC as future content due in 2027; it does not provide a specific expansion release date, title, or story description.

Digital and Physical PS5 Differences
Choose the digital Deluxe Edition if you want the game and all announced Deluxe extras through PlayStation Store without the physical collectibles. The store listing identifies it as a PS5 product with offline play enabled for one player. It also says optional in-game purchases are present.
Choose the physical Deluxe Edition if the exclusive SteelBook and hardback Art Book matter to you. The official edition announcement says the physical PlayStation 5 package includes a game disc. Physical availability depends on retailers, so the seller's listing should show the PS5 Deluxe Edition rather than the Standard or Collector's Edition before you order.
The Digital Art Book and Digital Soundtrack appear in both Deluxe versions. The supplied official descriptions do not explain the PS5 apps, download process, file formats, or access timing for these bonuses. Do not assume that the physical edition contains an audio CD or a second printed art book: its soundtrack is digital, while the physical book is specifically the hardback Art Book.
The Specialist Pack Is a Preorder Bonus
Preordering any announced edition adds the Metro 2039 Specialist Pack. It provides early unlocks for three backpack upgrade blueprints:
- Equipment Specialist Pouch: supports crafting advanced weapons and gear more quickly.
- Chemtech Specialist Pouch: supports exploration in radioactive areas with more gas-mask filters and cleaner, more reliable equipment.
- Munitions Specialist Pouch: supports finding and using rarer, more powerful ammunition types.
Only one of these backpack upgrades can be equipped at a time. The official description calls them early unlocks, so the pack changes when you can access them rather than defining a separate PS5 Deluxe package. Because it is tied to preorder status, it should not be counted among the four core items in the digital Deluxe contents list.
What the PS5 Deluxe Edition Does Not Include
Neither PS5 Deluxe version includes the wearable replica Spartan Helmet. That is a Collector's Edition item. The Collector's Edition also contains the Deluxe contents, but its full package and retailer availability belong to that separate edition.
The digital Deluxe Edition also does not include the exclusive SteelBook, hardback Art Book, or game disc. Those are the physical Deluxe additions. Conversely, buying the physical package does not replace its digital bonuses with physical equivalents: the announced soundtrack and Digital Art Book remain digital.
No source supplied for this page confirms a PS4 copy, a cross-generation entitlement, an upgrade route, or a PS4 version of Metro 2039. The verified platform announcement covers PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, so a PS5 buyer should not assume that this purchase includes another PlayStation generation.

The $99.99 figure is the captured US PlayStation Store preorder price for the digital Deluxe Edition, not a guaranteed worldwide price or a physical-edition MSRP. The same store page says players who previously purchased any Metro game through PlayStation Store will see a 10% discount on the Deluxe Edition preorder price. Whether that discount appears depends on the purchasing account and the offer remaining active.

Before paying, check three labels: PS5, Deluxe Edition, and whether the product is digital or physical. Then check whether the listing still advertises the Specialist Pack as a preorder bonus. This avoids confusing the digital contents with the SteelBook package or expecting the Collector's Edition helmet in the Deluxe box.
