As of November 3, 2026, a Metro 2039 GOG version has not been announced in the supplied official pre-release information. The confirmed PC storefronts are Steam and the Epic Games Store, while Xbox on PC is also a confirmed PC platform. GOG is not included in the current official platform and store list.
That is a statement about the information available now, not proof that a GOG edition will never be released. Metro 2039 is still in its pre-release period, and none of the supplied sources contains a statement from 4A Games, Deep Silver, or GOG ruling out a later GOG launch.
Current Metro 2039 GOG status
There is no verified Metro 2039 product page on GOG in the supplied research, and the official Metro 2039 pre-order material does not name GOG. As a result, there is currently no supported GOG purchase or pre-order route to recommend for this game.
A GOG forum thread asking whether the platform will carry Metro 2039 does not change that status. A community question can show interest, but it is not a storefront listing or an announcement from the developer, publisher, or GOG.
Confirmed PC storefronts for Metro 2039
The current PC options should be read from the official game information rather than inferred from other Metro releases.
| PC channel | Status in the supplied sources | Practical meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | Confirmed storefront; the verified Steam App ID is 2590240 | Metro 2039 has an official Steam listing and is part of the announced PC release |
| Epic Games Store | Confirmed storefront | Epic is named in the official Metro 2039 store and platform information |
| Xbox on PC | Confirmed PC platform | The platform is announced, but the supplied page-specific material does not establish every store or pre-order detail |
| GOG | No Metro 2039 listing or announcement found | Do not treat GOG availability as confirmed; a future announcement remains possible |
This table describes storefront availability only. It does not compare prices, editions, pre-order bonuses, or system requirements, which belong to their own dedicated pages and can change independently.
Do not confuse Metro 2039 with the older GOG releases

The supplied GOG-related announcement covers two older games: the original 2010 version of Metro 2033 and the 2013 Metro: Last Light Complete Edition. Those games were added to GOG's preservation program with changes intended to improve compatibility with modern PCs.
The GOG announcement concerns the older Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light releases, not Metro 2039.
That announcement does not say Metro 2039 is coming to GOG. In the same material, Metro 2039 is described separately as coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. A search result about “Metro on GOG” may therefore lead to a genuine Metro franchise announcement while still providing no evidence for a Metro 2039 GOG release.
The title matters here. Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light Complete Edition, and Metro 2039 are separate products. Before buying, confirm that the product page says Metro 2039 and identifies 4A Games as the developer and Deep Silver as the publisher.
What to verify if a GOG listing appears
Treat Metro 2039 as confirmed for GOG only when the evidence identifies the exact game rather than the wider franchise. Check for all of the following:
- A dedicated GOG product page titled Metro 2039.
- A matching announcement from GOG, 4A Games, Deep Silver, or the official Metro channels.
- Store details that identify the edition, region, release timing, and any pre-order terms.
- A product description that matches the announced single-player game set in post-apocalyptic Moscow, rather than one of the earlier Metro titles.
A forum post, search snippet, wishlist request, or news story about Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light is not enough. The exact product listing is the decisive evidence.
What this means for a PC purchase now
If you want to pre-order the PC version using only confirmed information, use one of the officially announced PC routes and verify the exact edition at checkout. If GOG is a requirement, waiting for an exact Metro 2039 listing is the evidence-based choice.
Do not assume that a purchase made on another storefront will later transfer to GOG. The supplied sources do not document cross-store entitlement, a GOG key, a standalone GOG installer, or GOG-specific bonuses for Metro 2039.
The remaining unknown is not whether GOG exists as a Metro storefront—the older games establish that it does—but whether this new game will be added there, when that might happen, and under what commercial terms.
