Yes, the physical PC Deluxe Edition of Metro 2039 includes an Exclusive SteelBook. However, the PC package is code-in-box, not a physical game disc. It also includes a hardback art book, the future Story Expansion DLC, a digital art book, and the digital soundtrack.
The Digital Deluxe Edition does not include the SteelBook or hardback art book. To receive those collectibles, look specifically for a physical PC Deluxe Edition listing rather than a Digital Deluxe or Standard Edition listing.
What the boxed PC Deluxe Edition includes
The physical Deluxe package includes the exclusive SteelBook and hardback art book.
The official physical Deluxe Edition contents are:
| Included item | PC physical Deluxe details |
|---|---|
| Full game | Supplied as a code-in-box on PC, not a disc |
| Exclusive SteelBook | Included |
| Hardback art book | Included |
| Story Expansion DLC | Included; planned for release after the base game |
| Digital art book | Included |
| Digital soundtrack | Included |
| Bespoke packaging | Confirmed for the physical Deluxe Edition |
The SteelBook is therefore a collectible case rather than evidence that the PC package contains a game disc. The supplied information does not identify which PC storefront the boxed code activates on, so do not assume that every retailer supplies a Steam key.
The Specialist Pack is separate from the core Deluxe contents. It is a universal pre-order bonus offered with pre-ordered editions, including Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition. Its three blueprints unlock the Equipment Specialist Pouch, Chemtech Specialist Pouch, and Munitions Specialist Pouch early. Only one of these backpack upgrades can be equipped at a time.
Physical PC Deluxe versus Digital Deluxe
The Digital Deluxe Edition is presented separately from the physical SteelBook package.
Both Deluxe formats include the game and the announced digital extras, but only the physical package supplies the SteelBook and hardback book.
| Feature | Physical PC Deluxe | Digital Deluxe |
|---|---|---|
| Game access | Code-in-box | Digital purchase |
| Exclusive SteelBook | Yes | No |
| Hardback art book | Yes | No |
| Story Expansion DLC | Yes | Yes |
| Digital art book | Yes | Yes |
| Digital soundtrack | Yes | Yes |
| Specialist Pack | Only when eligible as a pre-order bonus | Only when eligible as a pre-order bonus |
Choose the physical PC Deluxe Edition if the SteelBook or hardback art book is the reason for buying the upgrade. Choose Digital Deluxe if only the game, expansion, digital art book, and soundtrack matter to you.
A digital PC store page can advertise the Deluxe Edition without including physical collectibles. Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC are confirmed PC platforms for Metro 2039, but their digital Deluxe listings should not be treated as SteelBook offers.
The Collector’s Edition is not required for the SteelBook
The SteelBook is already part of the physical Deluxe Edition. The more expensive Collector’s Edition includes the physical Deluxe contents and adds the wearable replica Spartan Helmet.
That means PC buyers interested in the SteelBook but not the helmet can focus on the physical Deluxe Edition. The Collector’s Edition is only necessary if the helmet is also wanted. Its PC copy is likewise code-in-box rather than a game disc.
PC price and release timing
Metro 2039 is scheduled for February 4, 2027, with February 5 listed for some territories including parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. It remains a pre-release product, so retailer prices, stock, and regional release details can change before launch.
A definitive US PC MSRP is not established by the supplied material. A captured $109.99 listing applies specifically to the PlayStation 5 Deluxe Edition and should not be reused as a confirmed PC price. Retailers may also price the boxed PC edition differently by country.
The Story Expansion DLC is confirmed for the Deluxe Edition and is planned for 2027, but its exact release date and story content have not been announced in the supplied information.
How to verify a PC SteelBook listing
Before placing an order, check the listing in this order:
- Confirm that the selected platform is PC, not PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
- Confirm that the edition is the physical Deluxe Edition. A Digital Deluxe listing will not include the SteelBook.
- Look for both Exclusive SteelBook and Hardback Art Book in the itemized contents.
- Expect the PC game to be supplied as a code-in-box, not a disc.
- Ask the retailer which store accepts the code if the listing does not name Steam, Epic Games Store, or Xbox on PC.
- Check whether the Specialist Pack is still included. It is a pre-order offer, not an unconditional physical collectible.
- Verify the local release date, shipping region, cancellation policy, and final price directly with the retailer.
Avoid relying only on a product image or the word “Deluxe.” The written contents and selected platform determine whether the order actually includes the PC SteelBook package.
